dear diary,
"all that junk of yours won't do you any good. what you need is jesus in your life!"
"what is with you and all those herbs? nothing good will ever come out of you."
"why can't you be more like your sister?"
"what the heck did you do to your hair? you look like a prostitute. your clothes are way too revealing!"
"i'm gonna send you to a school for girls, that's where they'll teach you how to dress and act, young lady!"
"look what i found in your room! are those drugs?"
"who is that boy you've been hanging out with? he looks like he's up to no good"
"that's it, i'm calling the cops"
"don't you dare take a step out of this house! if you do that you're never welcomed again!"
and that is how i left my home at the age of 17. i was born in a very religious family you could say; church every sunday, praying every night before bed and praying before eating were only some of the things i had to deal with, even though i had told them it's not how i want to live my life. that is why they've been treating me differently since i was about 10 years old and in 7 years they couldn't learn to respect me as a person who has it's own mind. it would be pointless for me to tell you more about them because they're not in my life anymore, i don't even want to think about them as my family. you see, i've always been, as people called me, spiritual. now you can think of it whatever you want, but i just define it as finding your own path, believing in what you believe in and not following any path or religion for that matter. that is what my family could not understand about me, they saw jesus as our god and bible as our rules, they didn't question it or anything.
so where was i? oh right, i was about to tell you more about me. i've always loved to draw and create things, that's also why i became a tattoo artist. if our body is a temple, why not decorate the walls? i love hearing people's stories that are hidden behind their tattoos and i also meet a lot of new people at my job, which is totally great. but as much as this may sound all happy and shit, you maybe also need to know i'm not as happy as i may seem. i don't even know how to explain it, but i guess you could just say i have voices in my head and those voices are not nice. i almost lost my life because of them, but something weird happened and i survived, i can't even explain it. anyway, i don't really like talking about this so just shush okay?
this is my life right now and i will be back for you diary, i know you'll always be here waiting for me. but right now i will have to say goodbye.
